Got Gnats?
Don’t let Gnats live in your home rent free!
Gnats could be the worst part of having plants. Many people refuse to have indoor plants for this sole reason. But, I am here to tell you that there are so many ways around these pesky little buggers. I too, have fallen victim to the gnat bombs around my house. They were in the bathrooms, in the kitchen and in my dogs water bowl. I panicked because I knew it was only time before my husband, cat and dog left me because of these dang bugs. I had enough, so once again I went to my planty friends on Instagram.
You can find many of my reels with tons of comments on tips and tricks with what works best. I was told the best way to start the process is by bottom watering your plants. This way the roots suck up the water and the top layer of dirt never gets too saturated. The top of the plants is typically where the bugs will hatch. I then started trying bug sprays like Insecticibal soap, but, that only killed the ones above dirt. I then tried the cinnamon trick, where you sprinkle it on top of the soil and then water it. This did not work very well for my plants either. I cannot even tell you how many tricks I tried before I was about to give up.
One last product was on my list that I hadn’t tried because I didn’t want to spend more money. I had seen many bloggers talking about it and tons of comments in my reels. I figured it was my last attempt, so I went ahead and bought the BTI Drops on Amazon that everyone was talking about. BAM, day by day the gnats started disappearing. If you haven’t tried the BTI Drops, they are very easy to use. All you have to do is get a tincture droppers and put 2-3 drops into the bottle you use to water your plants. I use BTI Drops every watering.
Also, I have to mention those sticky yellow bug catchers help during the process as well as the Zeyo plug-ins. You can find these both on Amazon as well.
