Who is Sarah?

You can find a brief story about how I got into planting under My Story page, but I thought it would be nice to give you a little back story of who I am and where I came from. Let’s just start from the very beginning. I was born and raised in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago, in a town called Buffalo Grove. I spent my childhood growing up in this quiet town, where not much happened and we played a lot of kick the cone and Mario Cart (the good ol days).

In the mid 90’s my Grandparents moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. That is when my life completely changed, I fell in love with it almost immediately. I begged my parents to let me go live with Grandma and Grandpa. Unfortunately for me, my parents weren’t onboard for sending their child to go live across the country. I just didn’t understand why people lived in places like Illinois when there was Arizona, filled with palm trees, pools and SUNSHINE all day long. When my Grandma was on her last few days fighting cancer she said that even on her worst day, the sun was still shining and it was still a good day. I wanted to live my life with that motto and I knew I couldn’t do that in Illinois.

I went to Western Illinois University from 03’-07’ and got my degree in Marketing and Advertising. I realized very quickly, after graduation that was not going to be the career I ended up in. I knew if I wanted to never deal with another winter, I only had a few months after graduation to start working and saving my money. If you are familiar with golf courses, I was the girl driving the beverage cart around. It was great money and it turned out I wasn’t too bad at golfing either. I saved every penny I could the summer or 07’, I was on a mission. I saved enough in 3 months to pack my car and drive to Arizona and never look back. Because I was having so much fun on the golf course, I decided to continue driving the beverage cart around a Scottsdale course for the next 6 years. It wasn’t until I met my now husband Nate, that I decided maybe being on the golf course wasn’t the right fit for me anymore. Looking back now, I don’t know how I put up with some of those men for so long (laughing).

When my husband and I got married we took the money we were gifted and started our now successful carpet cleaning company called EnerGreen. In 2020 we started Franchising and now have a Franchise in South Carolina, Chicago and the East Valley of Arizona. I am extremely grateful for where life has led me and I have a strong feeling this next chapter is looking very green!!
